Gombe National Park is not among the easiest or even cheapest wildlife destinations to visit. The only possible way to arrive in the park is using a boat from the town of Kigoma. Basing on your itinerary, visitors might reserve their international flight into Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) situated in Arusha town or into Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) found in the capital city of Dar es Salaam. This is an impressive destination is suitable for those taking a day’s tour and can easily be incorporated into an itinerary to other parks in Tanzania. The landscape of the park is mainly dominated by huge baobab and many dried up river beds. During the dry season in the months of August, September and October, the park supports the biggest number of wildlife in the whole of Tanzania, with several wild animals such as the giraffes, wildebeests, impalas plus zebras among others, together with a great profusion of birds. In addition, this park offers thrilling trekking safaris that are all worth enjoying. There are a number of nice tented camps, and lodges that offer accommodation.
A thrilled whoop erupts from the depths of the forest, immediately enhanced by a numerous other voices, mounting in volume, pitch and tempo to a hysterical shrieking loudening. It is the prominent ‘pant-hoot’ call- a bonding rite that enables all the participants to clearly identify their presence to each other in their unique individual vocal calls.
