Amaka Private Game Reserve & Safaris is an exclusive retreat situated on Grobelaars Kloof Anglo Boer war site. 7000 hectares of unspoilt landscape allows wildlife enthusiasts unique opportunities to view animals in their natural habitat. Due to the prime location Amaka is easily accessible from both Johannesburg & Durban, making it an ideal overnight rejuvenation point.
Amaka lodge boasts 6 executive en-suite bedrooms including all modern amenities. Guests can enjoy the entertainment area with bar, luxurious lounges, cocktail deck & swimming pool. Set sights on Africa’s most beautiful animals often grazing just outside the lodge.
Cultural History & Sites
Amaka Reserve has a rich cultural history, with ties back to the battle of Colenso which pre‐empted the siege of Ladysmith. Sites from the battle of Thukela heights, including Hart’s Hill and Wynne’s Hill, are located on the property along with numerous graves from fallen soldiers and monuments in their memory.
