Bad service and bad communication

In spite of some of the positive reviews about RajaTours Tanzania, I advise that you be very cautious with them. We emailed RajaTours Tanzania last year and communicated with them about our plans to organise a safari trip to Kenya in January 2020. As you can imagine, a big trip like this requires a bit of planning and it can take some weeks and some back and forth communication to get things sorted. We began our discussion with RajaTours Tanzania. In the beginning, they appeared keen. After only about 5-6 emails that they became disinterested. Then they simply just ignored us. We were always polite, reasonable and understanding, and we emailed them twice more in case they did not receive our replies. No answer. We don’t know why they manifest such an arrogant attitude but just as well we saw their true colours at that early stage of our communication. We just returned from our amazing safari trip with a different tour operator. While we were on our trip, we met another couple who also had similar negative experience with RajaTours Tanzania. This is why we decided to leave this feedback to caution you that there is another side to RajaTours Tanzania. They are probably inundated with requests but there is no justification whatsoever for them to treat anyone with such arrogance and contempt.

Not Great!
This is the review of the service received from Raja Tours ( for the private 5-day Safari (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro) for two, July 2018.
Summary: Overall experience: 3/5 (could have been a lot better only if we had a better guide)
A) Itinerary: 5/5 (Rajab worked with us to customize the plan and select the parks and accommodation we wanted).
B) Driver/Guide: Driving skills 4/5 (Hashim/Hashimu was a very safe driver), Guiding skills: 1/5 (Sadly Hashim wasn’t familiar with the parks, hot spots, and routs, however we were lucky enough to follow other drivers/guides to find and see some of the animals. Also, other factors contributed to this rating such as lack of communication, being unfriendly, strong focus on getting out of the park by certain time (we typically ended up at the gate 1 hr ahead of the schedule).
C) Vehicle: 2/5 (old beat-up vehicle (Toyota) with no A/C (cooling/heating), non-reclining seats, and barley functioning windows/doors (some windows wouldn’t open/close, some doors wouldn’t open, etc)
Again, Rajab was very responsive throughout the booking process and provided us with a great itinerary. However, considering this’s a once-in-a-life-time trip, it was disappointing to have an inexperienced unfriendly guide.

kilimanjaro mountain

Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain and the worlds tallest free-standing mountain at 5895 meters above sea level. It has three major volcanic centres: Shira (4160 m), Snow capped Kibo (5895 m) and Mawenzi. Widely considered the roof of Africa, climbing Kilimanjaro is one of the great trekking and one of the most rewarding experiences that any person can enjoy. There are 5(marangu,lemosho,machame,umbwe and rongai) main Kilimanjaro trekking / routes and the mountain can be climbed any time of the year although the rainy season between mid March to end of May is not advised.

It is a great place for adventures.
