The Oued Massa Nature reserve is a rich ecology system that is majorly made of oued Massa lagoon fringed by massive sand dunes, reed beds and muddy banks in the north. The park and nature reserve were created to protect the unique flora and fauna in this part of Morocco.
Wildlife safaris
The nature reserve is one of the best places to take your Morocco birding trips. The lagoon attracts several birds during the European winter months of September to November and later during February until April. Some of the birds regularly seen in the park include Sand Grouse, Avocet, Cranes, Turnstone, spoonbill, Waders, great flamingo, Godwit, Snipe, purple heron, Little Crake, osprey, Night squacco, Dunlin and many others. The endangered bald ibis is seldom sighted in the nature reserve.
Each season brings a lot different species of birds to the park making it an adventure destination in Morocco all through the year. Other sights in the park are the wild plants, flowers, insects and a few animals such as jackal, mongoose and gazelles among others
Getting there
It is located in near Agadir Town. Take Tiznit road from Agadir and take the right turn to Sidi rbat following the sign post. The sandy road into the farm lands leads you to the park
