1
Day 1: Journey to Samburu – Into Kenya’s Wild North
Depart from Nairobi in the morning and drive north through Kenya’s scenic highlands toward the rugged wilderness of Samburu National Reserve. Enjoy spectacular views of Mount Kenya and the changing landscapes as you travel into the semi-arid north.
Arrive at Samburu Sopa Lodge in time for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, head out on your first exciting game drive in Samburu, home to unique wildlife species such as the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk—often referred to as the “Samburu Special Five.”
Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day Exploring Samburu National Reserve
Spend the day discovering the dramatic landscapes and rich wildlife of Samburu National Reserve. Morning and afternoon game drives provide excellent opportunities to spot elephants, lions, leopards, and large herds of plains game along the life-giving Ewaso Nyiro River.
Between activities, enjoy time at the lodge relaxing by the pool and taking in the sweeping views of the reserve. Samburu’s unique terrain and fewer crowds make it one of Kenya’s most authentic safari destinations.

Day 3: Samburu to Aberdare – Forest Safari Experience
After breakfast, depart Samburu and travel south toward the lush highland forests of Aberdare National Park. Upon arrival, transfer to the famous The Ark Lodge, uniquely designed to resemble Noah’s Ark and overlooking a floodlit waterhole and salt lick.
Spend the afternoon and evening watching wildlife from the lodge’s viewing decks as elephants, buffaloes, and sometimes elusive forest animals come to drink. This unique safari experience allows for incredible wildlife viewing directly from the comfort of the lodge.

Day 4: Aberdare to Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, depart the Aberdare region and drive through the scenic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley toward Lake Nakuru National Park.
Arrive at Ziwa Bush Lodge, located just outside the park, in time for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its rhino sanctuary, flamingos, and diverse birdlife. The park is also home to lions, leopards, buffalo, and Rothschild’s giraffes.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru to the Legendary Masai Mara
After breakfast, depart for the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. Travel through the scenic Rift Valley floor, passing rural villages and expansive savannah landscapes.
Arrive at Zebra Plains Mara Camp in time for lunch. Later in the afternoon, set out for your first thrilling game drive in the Masai Mara, known for its incredible concentration of wildlife including lions, cheetahs, elephants, and vast plains game.

Day 6: Full Day Safari in the Masai Mara
Enjoy a full day exploring the endless plains of the Masai Mara National Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. This iconic reserve is famous for exceptional predator sightings and, during certain months, the spectacular Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras crossing from Tanzania’s Serengeti.
You may also opt for a sunrise hot-air balloon safari (optional) followed by a champagne breakfast on the savannah.

Day 7: Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, depart the Masai Mara and drive toward the freshwater lake town of Lake Naivasha.

Day 8: Lake Naivasha to Amboseli – Views of Kilimanjaro
After breakfast, depart Naivasha and drive south toward Amboseli National Park, one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations. The park is famous for its large elephant herds and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain.
Arrive at Amboseli Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. Later, enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of elephants, lions, cheetahs, and abundant plains wildlife against the dramatic backdrop of Kilimanjaro.

Day 9: Full Day in Amboseli National Park

Between activities, relax at the lodge and enjoy views of Mount Kilimanjaro when the clouds clear—often at sunrise and sunset.
