Day 1: Arrival in Johannesburg – Overnight and Safari Briefing

Arrive at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg where your guide will greet you and transfer you to your hotel for check-in and rest. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a short city orientation drive or relax at the hotel.

You’ll receive a detailed briefing about your safari adventure. Dinner on your own or at the hotel restaurant.

Day 2: Drive to Kruger National Park – Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast, depart for Kruger National Park, South Africa’s flagship wildlife reserve. The drive takes approximately 5 to 6 hours, offering a view of the countryside and small towns.

Upon arrival, check in at Skukuza Rest Camp or a lodge in the Greater Kruger area. After lunch and a short break, head out for your first game drive, where you’ll look for elephants, lions, giraffes, and more.

Dinner and overnight at your Kruger accommodation.

Day 3: Full-Day Game Drive in Kruger National Park

Wake early for a sunrise game drive, with a professional ranger guiding you through diverse landscapes to track wildlife. The morning is ideal for spotting big cats and herds of buffalo or elephants near waterholes.

Return to camp for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, continue your Big Five safari experience on another game drive. You may visit different zones of the park, increasing chances to see leopards, hyenas, and rhinos.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive – Fly to Port Elizabeth

After a final early morning game drive, return to camp for breakfast and check out. Transfer to the airport for a domestic flight from Nelspruit (MQP) to Port Elizabeth.

Upon arrival, transfer to a nearby hotel in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) for rest. Depending on the time, enjoy a walk along the beachfront promenade or local seafood dinner.

Day 5: Addo Elephant National Park – Afternoon Game Drive

Depart after breakfast for Addo Elephant National Park, located just an hour away. Addo is famous for its large elephant herds and diverse ecosystems that support zebras, lions, black rhinos, and warthogs.

Arrive at Addo Rest Camp or a lodge nearby. After check-in and lunch, join an afternoon game drive through the scenic hills and river valleys.

Day 6: Full Day in Addo – Wildlife Safari and Birding

Spend the day exploring Addo Elephant National Park. You can take both morning and afternoon game drives, either self-drive or with a guide. The park also offers excellent birdwatching, especially around the waterholes.

Enjoy picnic-style lunches or meals at the camp restaurant. In the evening, consider a sunset drive for sightings of nocturnal animals like jackals and owls.

Day 7: Fly to Cape Town – Transfer to Table Mountain Area

After breakfast, transfer to Port Elizabeth airport for your flight to Cape Town. On arrival, your guide will meet you and drive you to your hotel near Table Mountain.

Time permitting, take a cable car to the top of Table Mountain for panoramic views of the city, Atlantic Ocean, and surrounding peaks. Enjoy sunset at the summit or from Signal Hill.

Day 8: Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour – Beaches and Cape of Good Hope

Today you’ll explore the scenic Cape Peninsula. Highlights include:

  • Hout Bay for an optional boat ride to Seal Island
  • Chapman’s Peak Drive, one of the most scenic coastal routes in the world
  • Cape Point Nature Reserve, home to ostriches, baboons, and dramatic cliffs
  • Cape of Good Hope, where two ocean currents meet
  • Boulders Beach, famous for its colony of African penguins

Return to Cape Town in the late afternoon. Dinner at the V&A Waterfront or a local seafood restaurant.

Day 9: Robben Island and Cape Town Museums

Take a morning ferry to Robben Island, the former prison where Nelson Mandela was held for 18 years. A former inmate will lead the tour, offering personal insights into South Africa’s struggle for democracy.

After returning, visit the District Six Museum, dedicated to those who were forcibly removed under apartheid, or explore the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary African Art.

Day 10: Cape Winelands Tour – Stellenbosch and Franschhoek

Day 11: Beach Day and Leisure in Camps Bay or Clifton

Spend your final full day relaxing by the coast. Head to Camps Bay, Clifton Beach, or Bloubergstrand, depending on your interests, swimming, sunbathing, surfing, or photography.

You may also use this day to shop at Greenmarket Square, explore Bo-Kaap, or enjoy a boat cruise from the harbor.

Day 12: Departure from Cape Town International Airport

After breakfast, enjoy free time depending on your flight schedule. Your guide will transfer you to Cape Town International Airport for your departure.
