Algeria City Tours | Algiers Casbah | Tipasa Roman Ruins | North Africa History and Culture
Arrive at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers, where your local guide will greet you and provide a short transfer to your hotel. After check-in and refreshment, begin a guided city tour.
Your first visit is to the Casbah of Algiers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of North Africa’s oldest medinas. Walk through its narrow alleys, whitewashed houses, hidden staircases, and Ottoman-era palaces. See the Ketchaoua Mosque, Sidi Ramdane Mosque, and traditional homes with carved wooden balconies.
Continue to the Martyrs’ Memorial, an iconic concrete monument honoring Algeria’s war of independence. Then proceed to Notre-Dame d’Afrique, a 19th-century Catholic basilica offering sweeping views of the Mediterranean coast.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight in Algiers.
After breakfast, depart for a full-day excursion to Tipasa, located about 70 km west of Algiers. Tipasa was a Roman-Berber coastal city, and today its archaeological site is a highlight of Algerian heritage.
Walk through the ruins of the amphitheater, basilicas, temples, and baths built by the Romans. Explore the necropolis and see remnants of mosaics and ancient carvings, all with the sea in the background. Visit the Royal Mausoleum of Mauretania, believed to be the resting place of Cleopatra Selene II, daughter of Cleopatra and Mark Antony.
Lunch is served in a local seafood restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Afterward, return to Algiers in the evening for overnight.
On your final day, visit the Bardo National Museum, housed in a 18th-century Moorish villa, to explore Algeria’s archaeological and ethnographic collections. The museum presents items from prehistoric times to Islamic and colonial periods.
Depending on your flight schedule, you may stroll through the Botanical Garden of Hamma, one of the oldest botanical gardens in Africa, or take a final walk along the Algiers waterfront promenade.
Your guide will then transfer you to Algiers International Airport, marking the end of your 3-day Algeria tour.
