This short tour gives a balanced mix of Luanda’s cultural sites, a safari in Kissama National Park, and a relaxing day on the beach at Mussulo Island.
Arrive at Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport in Luanda and meet your local guide for transfer to your hotel. After a short rest, begin your tour of Angola’s vibrant capital city.
Visit the Fortaleza de São Miguel, a 16th-century fort with views over the bay and a small military museum. Explore the National Museum of Anthropology to learn about Angola’s many ethnic groups and traditions.
Stroll along the Marginal promenade, pass colonial-era buildings, and see the Iron Palace (Palácio de Ferro), believed to be designed by Gustave Eiffel.
Dinner will feature Angolan specialties such as moamba de galinha (chicken stew) or grilled fish with funge.

Depart early after breakfast for a full-day trip to Kissama National Park (approx. 2.5 hours from Luanda). This park is Angola’s most accessible wildlife reserve, set along the Cuanza River.
Board a 4×4 vehicle for a game drive across open savannah and baobab woodlands. Sightings may include elephants, giraffes, antelope, ostriches, and a variety of birds. Visit the Kuanza River viewpoint, a popular photo stop.
After a picnic lunch in the park, return to Luanda in the late afternoon. Optional stop at Miradouro da Lua (Viewpoint of the Moon), known for its surreal eroded cliffs, depending on timing.

After breakfast, take a short boat ride to Mussulo Island, a sandy peninsula just off Luanda’s coast, known for calm waters and palm-lined beaches.
Spend the morning relaxing, swimming, or enjoying fresh seafood by the beach. Return to Luanda by early afternoon.
Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy light shopping for local crafts such as hand-carved masks or batik fabrics before transferring to Quatro de Fevereiro Airport for your departure.
