3 Days Benin Tour – History, Voodoo Culture & Floating Village Life

Your Benin tour begins with a morning pick-up from Cotonou, the commercial capital. After a brief city orientation, drive 45 minutes west to Ouidah, one of West Africa’s most important centers of voodoo spirituality and transatlantic slave history.

Start with a visit to the Ouidah Museum of History, located inside a Portuguese fort, which houses maps, chains, and documents related to the slave trade. Continue along the Slave Route, a 4-kilometer trail tracing the final steps of enslaved people to the Point of No Return, a symbolic memorial on the beach.

In the afternoon, explore voodoo shrines, including the Temple of the Sacred Python, and meet a local priest or spiritual leader for insight into Beninese ancestral beliefs. Check into a beachside hotel and enjoy dinner near the Atlantic coast.
