Safari Overview
This 3 day chimpanzee tracking safari takes you to Kibale forest National Park home of 13 different primate species – the highest diversity and number of primates across the whole of East Africa. This park is one of the most attractive game parks in the country with all these primates living in its verdant habitats that cover an area of 795 square kilometers that comprise of a rainforest, swamps, patches of grasslands and rivers. With more than 1400 chimpanzees, holidaymakers will get a chance to track some of the habituated chimpanzee groups living here.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kibale National Park
Early morning, the safari driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel, brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Kibale National park found in southwestern Uganda. Along the way, you will enjoy views of the spectacular landscapes, local village settlements as well as roadside markets selling fresh fruits and vegetables. You will have lunch in fort portal town and proceed to the park where you will check into your accommodation and unwind as you prepare for chimpanzee tracking the following day.

Day 2: Chimpanzees tracking in Kibale national park
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters where you will be briefed by park rangers and also be allocated the chimpanzee group that you will be tracking. You will hike in the forest between 2 to 4 hours before you get to meet them. You will be allowed an hour in the midst observing these playful chimps feed, swings from one tree branch to another and also take photographs. Return for lunch at your accommodation
In the afternoon there will be an optional guided nature walk in the Bigodi wetland sanctuary where you will see different wildlife such as red colobus monkeys, the hard to find sitatunga and bird like the great blue turaco among many others. Alternatively spend the rest of the day at leisure back at your lodge

Day 3: Depart to Kampala
This is the final day of the 3 day chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kibale National Park. After breakfast, check-out of your accommodation and begin the drive back to Kampala where you will be dropped at a hotel of your choice or at the Entebbe international to catch your departure flight. This will mark the end of your safari
