This focused gorilla trekking itinerary takes you into the heart of the Republic of Congo’s remote Odzala-Kokoua National Park – one of Africa’s top destinations for tracking habituated western lowland gorillas in pristine rainforest.
Arrive at Mboko Airstrip in Odzala-Kokoua National Park by charter flight from Brazzaville. Meet your local guide and transfer to Mboko Camp, set along the Likeni River in a transitional zone between savannah and forest.
After check-in and lunch, take a guided forest walk to get acquainted with the landscape. Watch for forest buffalo, guenon monkeys, hornbills, and butterflies as you explore.
In the evening, enjoy dinner and a detailed gorilla trekking briefing led by a park ranger or researcher.
