Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrival and Transfer to Hlane Royal National Park – Afternoon Game Drive
Arrive via King Mswati III International Airport or a border post (e.g., Oshoek or Lavumisa). You’ll be welcomed by your guide and transferred to Hlane Royal National Park, located in northeastern Eswatini. The park is home to white rhinos, elephants, lions (in separate enclosures), giraffes, and diverse birdlife.
Check in at Ndlovu Camp or similar. After lunch, set out on an afternoon game drive with expert rangers. The drive offers a good chance to see large mammals and birds like vultures and martial eagles.
Return for dinner and overnight stay inside Hlane.
Morning Game Drive – Transfer to Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary
Start the day early with a sunrise game drive. After breakfast, depart for Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary in the Ezulwini Valley. Unlike Hlane, Mlilwane is predator-free, making it ideal for activities on foot or by bicycle.
Arrive and check in at Reilly’s Rock Hilltop Lodge or Mlilwane Rest Camp. After lunch, enjoy a guided walking safari across grasslands dotted with wildebeests, zebras, impalas, and warthogs. Your guide will also explain the significance of local plants and Swazi traditions.
Dinner and overnight in Mlilwane.
Visit to Mantenga Cultural Village – Optional Hiking or Horseback Safari
After breakfast, visit Mantenga Cultural Village, a living museum showcasing Swazi customs, traditional homesteads, and dance performances. Learn about the social structure, history, and ceremonies of the Swazi people.
In the afternoon, choose between:
Horseback riding safari across Mlilwane’s trails
Hiking to Execution Rock, a scenic high point with views of the valley
Or simply relaxing at your lodge with wildlife around you
Dinner and overnight stay at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary.
Morning at Leisure – Return to Airport or Border
Enjoy a slow morning with optional birdwatching, a nature walk, or a final visit to the nearby handicraft market. After breakfast, check out and transfer to King Mswati III Airport, Mbabane, or the nearest South Africa border post for onward travel.
This concludes your 4-day Eswatini safari, offering game viewing, outdoor activities, and insights into Swazi heritage.
