Arrival in Algiers – Casbah Walking Tour & Ottoman Heritage

Arrive at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers. After immigration and baggage clearance, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, begin your guided walking tour of the Casbah of Algiers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich in Moorish and Ottoman history.

Explore winding alleys, whitewashed walls, and traditional courtyard houses. Visit the Ketchaoua Mosque, Palace of the Dey, and artisan shops producing brassware, carpets, and ceramics.

Enjoy dinner at a traditional Algerian restaurant serving couscous, chakchouka, and mint tea. Overnight in Algiers.

Tipasa Roman Ruins & Royal Mausoleum of Mauretania

After breakfast, drive 70 km west to Tipasa, one of North Africa’s best-preserved Roman cities. Walk through the seaside ruins, including a Roman theater, necropolis, basilicas, and the old forum. Your guide will explain Tipasa’s unique blend of Berber, Roman, and early Christian heritage.

Next, visit the nearby Royal Mausoleum of Mauretania, an ancient tomb on a hill believed to house the remains of King Juba II and Queen Cleopatra Selene II. Lunch is served at a seaside restaurant.

Return to Algiers in the late afternoon. Optional evening stroll along the Algiers promenade or dinner at the hotel.

Flight to Constantine – Hanging Bridges & Arab-Andalusian Culture

After breakfast, transfer to Algiers airport for a domestic flight to Constantine, known as the “City of Bridges.” Upon arrival, check into your hotel and begin a guided city tour.

Cross the famous Sidi M’Cid Bridge, suspended over a dramatic gorge, and visit the Palace of Ahmed Bey, a 19th-century Ottoman residence. Continue to the Emir Abdelkader Mosque, one of the largest mosques in North Africa, and explore the Kasbah of Constantine.

Dinner is served at a local restaurant with views over the gorges and cliffs.

Day Trip to Timgad – Roman City of the Aures Mountains

Depart early for a full-day excursion to Timgad, a UNESCO-listed Roman city located at the foot of the Aures Mountains. Known as the “Pompeii of Africa,” Timgad features a vast grid of streets, the Trajan Arch, temples, a library, amphitheater, and well-preserved mosaics.

Explore the ruins with a local guide, then have lunch at a nearby café before returning to Constantine in the late afternoon.

Enjoy your final evening in Constantine with optional visits to local bakeries or artisan shops.

Constantine City Sites – Departure
