This 5-day Libya tour combines Roman archaeological wonders, Saharan culture, and city history. It features guided visits to Tripoli, the ancient cities of Leptis Magna and Sabratha, and the oasis town of Ghadames near the Algerian border. Arrive at Tripoli International Airport, meet your local guide, and transfer to your hotel in the capital.
Begin your city exploration with a walking tour of Tripoli’s old medina, including the Arch of Marcus Aurelius, Gurgi Mosque, and the Karamanli House. Visit the Red Castle Museum (As-Saraya al-Hamra) for an introduction to Libya’s Phoenician, Roman, Islamic, and Ottoman periods.
Later, enjoy mint tea in a local café and stroll through the Souq al-Mushir, one of the city’s oldest markets.

Drive east along the coast to Leptis Magna, one of the most extensively preserved Roman cities in North Africa. Tour the Severan Basilica, Hadrianic Baths, amphitheater, forum, and market with your guide, exploring the grandeur of Roman Libya.
Stop for lunch near the ruins and spend time walking along the ancient harbor before returning to Tripoli.

After breakfast, head west to Sabratha, a Roman and Phoenician city located by the Mediterranean. Highlights include the 3rd-century Roman theater, mosaics, basilicas, and temples.
After the site visit, walk along the sea wall and enjoy views of the ruins against the water. Return to Tripoli in the late afternoon and enjoy a quiet evening.

Take a morning flight (or long 4x4 transfer, depending on availability) to Ghadames, an ancient Berber oasis town at the edge of the Sahara.
Tour the old town of Ghadames, with its mudbrick alleys, whitewashed homes, and rooftops connected for women’s safe movement. Visit the local museum and climb a rooftop for views over the palm groves. Learn about Tuareg customs, traditional dress, and Saharan food.
