Day 1: Arrival in Windhoek – Welcome to Your Namibia Safari Holiday

Your 5 days Namibia safari tour begins upon arrival at Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport. A warm welcome awaits from your local guide who will assist with luggage and briefing. From here, enjoy a scenic drive into Windhoek city, the capital of Namibia, known for its German colonial architecture and cosmopolitan vibe.

Depending on your arrival time, you may explore local sites like the Christuskirche (Christ Church), the Independence Memorial Museum, or enjoy a walk in the bustling Post Street Mall. Settle into your accommodation and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Transfer to Etosha National Park – Namibia’s Premier Wildlife Reserve

After an early breakfast, embark on a drive of approximately 5.5 hours northward to Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife destinations, spanning over 22,000 km². En route, stop for refreshments in Okahandja or Otjiwarongo before continuing into the heart of Namibia’s safari circuit.

In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive through Etosha’s southern section. Expect to see elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, and perhaps even the endangered black rhino or a prowling lion near the waterholes. Etosha’s vast salt pan dominates the landscape and provides a surreal backdrop for photography.

Overnight at Okaukuejo Camp or Etosha Safari Lodge.

Day 3: Full-Day Game Drives in Etosha – The Big Game Experience

Today is dedicated to exploring Etosha National Park on a full-day game drive. Your experienced guide will navigate from Okaukuejo toward Halali and the eastern sections of the park, maximizing your chances of spotting all members of the Big Five, though note buffalo are absent in Etosha, making it a “Big Four” park.

Highlights include sightings at popular waterholes like Okondeka, Nebrownii, and Goas, where zebras gather in large herds and predators often lurk. The Etosha Pan, a vast saline depression visible from space, creates a shimmering white desert-like landscape that’s unique to Namibia safaris.

Expect a picnic lunch in the bush and continue game viewing until evening.

Overnight again in Etosha.

Day 4: Drive to Sossusvlei via Solitaire – Dunes of the Namib Desert

After breakfast, depart Etosha and head south-west toward the iconic dunes of Sossusvlei, located in the Namib-Naukluft National Park. This is a long but scenic journey (approx. 7–8 hours), transitioning from wildlife savannas to dramatic desert landscapes.

Stop en route at Solitaire, a quirky desert settlement famed for its apple pie and rusty car relics. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at your desert lodge near Sesriem, the gateway to the towering red dunes.

Enjoy sunset views over the Naukluft mountains or optional stargazing, Namibia offers some of the clearest night skies in the world, especially in the Namib Desert, which averages over 300 cloudless nights annually.

Day 5: Explore Sossusvlei & Deadvlei – Departure to Windhoek

Rise early for a pre-dawn drive into the Namib-Naukluft National Park, aiming to reach Dune 45 by sunrise. Climb the 85-meter-high sand dune for panoramic desert views, then proceed to Deadvlei, an eerie white clay pan dotted with 900-year-old petrified trees, a photographer’s dream.

Continue to Sossusvlei, where the Tsauchab River sometimes reaches the dunes after rare rains. Visit Sesriem Canyon, a narrow gorge carved by water over millennia, before returning to your lodge for brunch.

After freshening up, transfer back to Windhoek for your evening flight (approximately 4.5–5.5 hours drive). Your guide will drop you at Hosea Kutako International Airport, marking the end of your memorable Namibia desert and wildlife safari.
