Arrival in Lagos – City Tour & Nigerian Modern Culture

Arrive at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. After airport pickup and hotel check-in, begin an afternoon Lagos city tour, introducing you to Nigeria’s largest and most dynamic metropolis.

Visit Freedom Park, a former colonial prison turned cultural space. Walk through Balogun Market, one of West Africa’s largest textile markets, and continue to Nike Art Gallery, home to thousands of Nigerian artworks, fabrics, and carvings.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at a restaurant featuring Nigerian dishes such as jollof rice, pepper soup, and suya.

Lagos – National Museum, Lekki Conservation & Nightlife Option

After breakfast, start your day with a visit to the National Museum of Nigeria, which houses Nok terracotta figures, traditional masks, and artifacts from Nigeria’s diverse ethnic groups.

Continue to the Lekki Conservation Centre, a protected natural park where you can walk the famous canopy walkway, one of the longest in Africa, and spot monkeys, crocodiles, and exotic birds.

Return to your hotel to rest, or optionally experience Lagos nightlife in Victoria Island or Ikeja with live Afrobeats music and local cuisine.

Day Trip to Abeokuta – Olumo Rock & Adire Markets

After breakfast, drive north to Abeokuta (approx. 1.5–2 hours), the capital of Ogun State. Your first stop is Olumo Rock, a historic granite outcrop that served as a fortress for the Egba people during intertribal wars. Climb the rock for panoramic views of the city.

Visit the Adire Market where local women design and sell hand-dyed indigo fabrics. Learn about the traditional adire technique from local artisans and have a chance to shop for unique textile pieces.

After lunch in Abeokuta, return to Lagos in the evening.

Day Trip to Ibadan – Cocoa House, University & Cultural Centre

Leave Lagos early for a full-day excursion to Ibadan, one of Nigeria’s largest cities and historically a key Yoruba cultural hub (approx. 2.5–3 hours). Start with a visit to Cocoa House, West Africa’s first skyscraper and a symbol of Nigeria’s cocoa trade history.

Explore the University of Ibadan, Nigeria’s oldest university, including its zoological garden and Kenneth Dike Library. Visit Mapo Hall, a colonial-era town hall with views over Ibadan’s rooftops.

Conclude with a stop at the National Museum of Unity before returning to Lagos in the evening.

Lagos – Shopping & Departure

Depending on your flight time, enjoy a relaxed morning with optional shopping at Lekki Arts and Crafts Market, where you can find beadwork, sculptures, leather bags, and Ankara fashion.
