A six-day liveaboard dhow expedition through the Bazaruto Archipelago – one of the great traditional sailing adventures still possible in Africa. Sail between deserted islands, snorkel pristine reefs, and overnight aboard or at the rare island lodges.
This is the romantic version of dhow travel: gentle pace, white sails against turquoise water, and seafood grilled aboard each evening.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Vilanculos Embark
Board your dhow in Vilanculos. Sail to Magaruque Island.\n\nMeals: Lunch & Dinner
Day 2: Magaruque & Two Mile
Snorkel Two Mile Reef. Sail to Benguerra Island.\n\nMeals: Full board
Day 3: Benguerra
Lodge stay on Benguerra. Optional fishing or horse riding.\n\nMeals: Full board
Day 4: To Bazaruto
Sail to Bazaruto Island. Dune climbing and freshwater lake.\n\nMeals: Full board
Day 5: Bazaruto Snorkel
Snorkel and beach day. Final dhow sunset sail.\n\nMeals: Full board
Day 6: Return
Dhow sail back to Vilanculos.\n\nMeals: Breakfast & Lunch
