This 6 Days gorilla and Wildlife Uganda Safari takes you to the Bwindi impenetrable forests National Park to trek gorillas and then to Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda’s most popular game park where you will see various types of animals including carnivores and predators such as giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, hyenas and even the unique tree-climbing lions found in the Ishasha area. You will also explore the Kazinga channel that joins Lake Edward and Lake George on a thrilling Launch Cruise.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kampala 

On arrival at the Entebbe international Airport, your safari driver-guide will welcome you to this beautiful country – the Pearl of Africa and then transfer you to your hotel in Kampala as well as brief you on this 6 days Uganda Safari.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park

Today you will have breakfast very early in the morning and then your driver guide will pick you up from your hotel and begin the long drive towards the far southwestern part of Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park the home of the endangered mountain gorillas believed to be about 1006 in number across the entire planet. You will stopover at the Uganda Equator for a photograph moment and also an en-route lunch in Mbarara City. On arrival check into your accommodation where you will spend the night

Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi

Today get a chance to come face to face with the giant mountain gorillas. Begin the day with an early breakfast and transfer by 8:00am to the park headquarters where you will be briefed by ranger guides about this activity before setting out in the forest for this once-in-a-life time experience. The hike in the gorilla natural habitat will take between 2 to 6 hours depending on the location and trekking pace. You will be allowed one hour with them taking photos and observing them. The sight of the huge hairy dominant silverback is quite breathtaking and indeed this encounter will live you with lasting memories. Gorillas are said to share 98% of their DNA human beings so it will be quite impressive observing them.

After lunch you may take an optional cultural visit to the Batwa pygmy community that live close to the park who will entertain you with vibrant dances, songs and drama as well as teach about their unique way of life.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, begin the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park driving through the Ishasha sector in the southern part of the park where you will get a chance to search for the rare tree-climbing lions normally seen in the large tree branches of the acacia trees resting. It alleged that there are only two populations of such lions that have this unique character in the world. Today the reason why these lions choice to climb up the trees remains unknown as some people assume that they do so either to escapes from the heat on the ground or to avoid the tsetse flies. Within this area you will also encounter various other animals such as the Uganda kobs, topi, waterbucks and elephants among others.

Day 5:  Game drive and Boat cruise on Kazinga Channel

Begin the day with an early game drive along the Kasenyi trails to see various early riser animals like lions, elephants, leopards, Uganda kobs and buffaloes. This area is commonly visited by many holidaymakers as it has a high diversity of animals in very large numbers offer great game views. At around 11:00am return for a late breakfast, rest and then have lunch.

In the afternoon, enjoy a 2 hours launch cruise on the Kazinga channel where you will see the largest population of hippos in Uganda, buffaloes, elephants and various bird species. Return for dinner and the night’s rest at your accommodation.

Day 6: Departure to Kampala

This is the final day of the 6 days Uganda safari. After breakfast, begin the drive back to Kampala making en-route stopovers for lunch in Mbarara City, at equator for a photograph moment and souvenir shopping, and at the Mpambire drum making center where you will get a chance to see the traditional way of making drums a skill that has been passed down from several generations of the years. Once in Kampala the driver-guide will drop you at a hotel of your choice, or at the Entebbe airport for your departure flight. End of Safari
