This 6-day tour of Niger combines cultural depth with wilderness adventure. You’ll explore the capital city Niamey, enjoy a river cruise and a full safari in W National Park, then fly north to Agadez – the historic Saharan hub of Tuareg culture. The itinerary includes crafts, architecture, desert traditions, and markets.
Day 1: Arrival in Niamey – Orientation and National Museum
Arrive at Diori Hamani International Airport in Niamey, where your guide will meet and transfer you to your hotel. After checking in, visit the National Museum of Niger to see its archaeological, historical, and zoological exhibits.
Stop by Rue de l’Indépendance for an evening walk and local snacks like grilled skewers and fried plantains. A welcome dinner introduces you to Nigerien cuisine.

Day 2: W National Park Safari – Full-Day Wildlife Excursion
After an early breakfast, depart for W National Park (approx. 2.5–3 hours). Upon arrival, join park rangers for a guided safari through acacia woodlands and grasslands.
Look out for elephants, hippos, buffalo, warthogs, and diverse birdlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a safe rest area before continuing your game viewing in the afternoon.
Return to Niamey for the evening.

Day 3: Niger River Cruise and Traditional Artisan Village
Today begins with a relaxing pirogue ride on the Niger River, passing riverside communities and spotting wildlife such as hippos and waterbirds.
After lunch, visit a crafts cooperative where artisans make items from leather, wood, silver, and gourds. You’ll see Tuareg-style jewelry, camel saddles, and traditional designs made with hand tools.

Day 4: Fly to Agadez – Historic Mosque and Sultan’s Palace
Transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Agadez, a historic city in Niger’s north and a key Saharan crossroads.
After hotel check-in, begin your guided walk of Agadez Old Town:
- Visit the Great Mosque of Agadez, built from mud-brick and known for its tall minaret
- Explore the Sultan’s Palace, a symbol of Tuareg leadership
- Walk the narrow alleys lined with adobe homes and colorful murals
Dinner features traditional northern dishes like couscous with camel meat or dates and yogurt.

Day 5: Tuareg Cultural Encounters and Desert Excursion
Spend the day immersed in Tuareg culture. Visit a local compound to see traditional tea ceremonies, handicraft production, and learn about desert survival customs.
Later, take a short drive into the fringe of the Ténéré Desert for a camel ride or 4×4 excursion (optional). Sunset over the sand dunes makes for excellent photo opportunities.
Return to Agadez for an evening of local music and storytelling with nomadic guides.

Day 6: Return to Niamey – Departure
