7 Days Kenya Safari: Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha & Amboseli

Begin your 7-day Kenya safari with a morning departure from Nairobi. Travel through the Great Rift Valley, stopping at viewpoints along the escarpment before arriving at Masai Mara National Reserve by early afternoon.
Check in to your lodge or luxury tented camp and enjoy lunch. Later, head out for your first game drive in the Mara, famous for its high concentration of Big Cats, elephants, buffaloes, and a variety of antelope species.

Overnight in Masai Mara – Safari Lodge or Tented Camp

Today, enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch in the bush. Masai Mara offers some of Africa’s most spectacular wildlife viewing. Search for the Big Five, lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo, as well as cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, and abundant birdlife.
If traveling between July and October, you may witness the Great Wildebeest Migration and dramatic Mara River crossings.
Optional: Visit a Masai village (Manyatta) for a cultural interaction with the local community (extra fee applies).

Overnight in Masai Mara

After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, passing through picturesque landscapes and farmlands (approx. 5 hours). Arrive in time for lunch and a short rest before heading out for an afternoon game drive.
Lake Nakuru is renowned for its seasonal flamingos, white and black rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, and sightings of leopards in the acacia forests. Enjoy sunset views over the alkaline lake.

Overnight at a lodge inside or near Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, travel to nearby Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake known for its serene atmosphere and rich birdlife. Take a boat ride to see hippos, African fish eagles, and other aquatic species.
After the boat tour, enjoy a guided walking safari at Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, where you can walk freely among zebras, giraffes, gazelles, and wildebeests.

Optional: Add Hell’s Gate National Park cycling or hiking experience (at additional cost).

Overnight in Naivasha – Lakeside Lodge or Camp

Depart after breakfast and drive south toward Amboseli National Park, located near the Kenya–Tanzania border (approx. 6–7 hours drive). Arrive in time for a late lunch and some rest.
In the afternoon, enjoy a short game drive inside Amboseli, home to large herds of elephants often seen against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain.

Overnight in Amboseli – Lodge or Tented Camp

Spend the day exploring Amboseli National Park, known for its photogenic landscapes and iconic wildlife. Begin with an early morning game drive for the best views of Mt. Kilimanjaro before clouds form.
Spot large elephant families, lions, zebras, wildebeests, and numerous birds in the swampy areas fed by underground springs.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at the Observation Hill, offering panoramic views of the park.

Overnight in Amboseli
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After an early breakfast, take one last morning game drive as you exit Amboseli. Begin your return journey to Nairobi (approx. 4–5 hrs drive).
Arrive by early afternoon. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home, concluding your 7-day Kenya safari adventure.
