Day 1: Windhoek to Etosha National Park – Afternoon Game Drive

Depart Windhoek early and travel north toward Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s top wildlife reserves. The drive takes around 5 to 6 hours. Arrive at the park’s southern gate by early afternoon, check in at your lodge, and head out for your first game drive inside Etosha.

Visit nearby waterholes like Okaukuejo and Nebrownii, where elephants, giraffes, zebras, and springbok often gather.

Overnight at Okaukuejo Camp or Taleni Etosha Village.

Day 2: Full-Day Safari in Etosha National Park

Spend the full day exploring Etosha’s central and eastern regions. Your guide will take you on a full-day safari, visiting key waterholes and wildlife corridors. This park supports over 100 mammal species including lions, black rhinos, leopards, oryx, and wildebeest.

Stop at Halali Camp for lunch before continuing through varied ecosystems ranging from open grasslands to acacia woodland.

Overnight at Namutoni or Mokuti Etosha Lodge.

Day 3: Etosha to Damaraland – Desert Scenery and Rock Art

After breakfast, drive southwest to Damaraland, a dramatic region of rocky outcrops and wide valleys. Along the way, pass through rural communities and enjoy views of the Grootberg Massif. Arrive near Twyfelfontein, home to ancient San Bushman rock engravings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Visit the Petrified Forest or Burnt Mountain, depending on your interest and timing.

Overnight at Twyfelfontein Country Lodge or similar.

Day 4: Desert Elephant Tracking and Drive to Swakopmund

In the morning, join a guided nature drive in search of desert-adapted elephants, which roam the dry riverbeds of Damaraland. These elephants have adapted to arid conditions and are often seen in the Aba Huab and Huab valleys.

After the morning excursion, continue to the Atlantic coast and arrive in Swakopmund, a German-influenced coastal town known for its adventure sports and seaside charm.

Overnight at Hotel A La Mer or Swakopmund Plaza Hotel.

Day 5: Swakopmund to Sossusvlei – Namib Desert Crossing

Depart Swakopmund and travel through Namib-Naukluft National Park, one of the most scenic drives in Namibia. Cross the Gaub and Kuiseb passes, stopping for photo opportunities along the way.

Reach your lodge near Sossusvlei by late afternoon and enjoy the desert sunset over the red dunes.

Overnight at Desert Camp or Sossus Dune Lodge.

Day 6: Explore Sossusvlei and Deadvlei – Dune Climbing Adventure

Start early to catch the sunrise over Dune 45 or Big Daddy, two of the tallest dunes in the Namib Desert. After a steep but rewarding climb, continue to Deadvlei, a white clay pan surrounded by towering dunes and ancient camelthorn trees.

Visit Sesriem Canyon in the afternoon before returning to your lodge for relaxation or a sunset walk.

Overnight at Desert Camp or similar.

Day 7: Return to Windhoek – Scenic Drive and Departure

After breakfast, begin the return drive to Windhoek through Solitaire and the central highlands. Stop for a snack at the famous Moose McGregor Bakery in Solitaire before continuing to the capital.

Arrive in Windhoek by late afternoon for drop-off at your hotel or transfer to Hosea Kutako International Airport for your onward flight.
