Maputo to Maputo Special Reserve – Wildlife and Wilderness

After breakfast, depart by 4x4 vehicle for Maputo Special Reserve, a protected area on the southern coast known for its populations of elephants, hippos, antelope, zebras, and more than 400 species of birds. The drive takes around 3 hours through sandy tracks and remote terrain.

Upon arrival, enjoy a full afternoon game drive in the reserve, guided by a wildlife expert. Spot rare coastal wildlife roaming among lakes, dunes, and savannah.

Check in to your safari camp or eco-lodge inside the reserve. Dinner is served under the stars.

3

Game Drive and Transfer to Ponta do Ouro – Ocean Meets Savannah

Wake up early for a morning game drive, taking advantage of the cooler hours to see more active wildlife.

After brunch, transfer by 4x4 to Ponta do Ouro, a scenic coastal town known for its white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and laid-back charm. Settle into your beachfront accommodation and enjoy the late afternoon with a swim or a beach walk.

Dinner and overnight in Ponta do Ouro.

4

Dolphin Watching and Snorkeling Adventure

Begin the day with a boat excursion to observe wild dolphins, a signature activity in Ponta do Ouro. With ethical and licensed guides, you may have the chance to swim alongside dolphins in open waters.

Continue with a snorkeling session over the coral reefs, which host angelfish, parrotfish, rays, and sometimes turtles. Return to the lodge by late morning and enjoy a relaxed afternoon at leisure.

Overnight in Ponta do Ouro.

5

Cultural Visit and Drive to Inhaca Island Transfer Point

Spend the morning visiting a local village near Ponta do Ouro, where you’ll learn about Mozambican rural life, handicrafts, and cuisine. After lunch, transfer to the boat launch for your next destination.

Cross Maputo Bay by boat to reach Inhaca Island, a tropical escape with beaches, mangroves, and excellent snorkeling spots. Check in to your eco-lodge or island guesthouse.

Dinner and overnight on Inhaca Island.

6

Inhaca Island and Portuguese Island Excursion

Today you will explore both Inhaca Island and nearby Portuguese Island. Start with a guided walk through Inhaca’s coastal forest, visiting the lighthouse and marine biology station. Later, cruise to Portuguese Island, a quiet, uninhabited island with untouched beaches.

Snorkel in the calm reefs or just enjoy a peaceful day by the sea. A BBQ lunch is provided on the beach.

Return to your lodge in the afternoon. Overnight on Inhaca Island.

7

Return to Maputo – FEIMA Crafts Market and Relaxation

After breakfast, board a boat back across the bay to Maputo, and transfer to your city hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring the FEIMA Arts and Crafts Market, where you can shop for traditional wood carvings, capulana fabrics, and hand-woven baskets.

Relax for your final night in Mozambique with dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the city.
