Arrival in Brazzaville – City Tour and Orientation

Arrive at Maya-Maya International Airport in Brazzaville, where your guide will receive you and transfer you to your hotel.

In the afternoon, take a guided city tour, visiting the Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza Memorial, the Basilique Sainte-Anne, and the Poto-Poto Art School. Stroll through local craft markets to see Congolese woodwork and fabric art.

Charter Flight to Odzala – Transfer to Mboko Camp

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your charter flight to Mboko Airstrip in Odzala-Kokoua National Park. Upon arrival, transfer to Mboko Camp, set at the junction of savannah and rainforest ecosystems.

Take a short guided walk along the Likeni River, watching for forest buffalo, red river hogs, and birds such as hornbills and turacos. End the day with a briefing from the Odzala conservation team.

Ngaga Forest – First Gorilla Tracking

Transfer to Ngaga Camp, located at the edge of primary rainforest and near the village of Mbomo. After a camp orientation, set off with professional trackers on your first gorilla trek into the Ngaga research zone.

Once located, observe a habituated group of western lowland gorillas for up to one hour. Return to camp for lunch and enjoy a forest night walk or an educational talk with a researcher.

Ngaga Forest – Second Gorilla Trek and Culture

Lango Bai – Wildlife Viewing in Swamp Forest

Transfer to Lango Camp, located near one of the park’s most active bais (clearings). After lunch, join a bai walk, following elephant tracks and wading through shallow wetlands. Wildlife commonly seen includes forest elephants, sitatunga, duikers, and green pigeons.

Evening drinks are served on a raised deck overlooking the bai, offering peaceful views of animals as they come to drink.

Swamp Forest Adventure and River Excursion

Today includes a full-day forest and river exploration. Begin with a muddy forest trek through raffia palm groves and bai corridors, watching for monkeys and endemic birds.

After lunch, take a kayak or dugout canoe ride along the Lekana River, gliding past overhanging trees, sandbanks, and bathing animals. Stop along the way for wildlife spotting and photo opportunities.

Return to Mboko – Savannah Wildlife and Final Walk
