A Scenic and Wildlife-Packed Safari Across Namibia’s Best Parks and Landscapes
Namibia Safari Tours | Etosha National Park | Sossusvlei Dunes | Damaraland Wildlife Safari | Swakopmund Adventure
Depart Windhoek early and travel north through the towns of Okahandja and Otjiwarongo toward Etosha National Park. Arrive at the southern gate (Andersson Gate) around mid-afternoon. After lunch and check-in at your lodge, enjoy a game drive inside Etosha, visiting waterholes like Okaukuejo and Nebrownii.
Look out for elephants, zebras, giraffes, springbok, oryx, and black-faced impalas.
Overnight at Okaukuejo Camp or Taleni Etosha Village.
Spend the day on full-day game drives, heading east across the park. Visit key waterholes like Halali, Goas, and Rietfontein, which attract large numbers of game and predators. The Etosha Pan offers a unique white, shimmering backdrop for wildlife sightings.
Stop at Halali Camp for lunch and continue to the eastern section, known for cheetahs, lions, elephants, and rhinos.
Overnight at Mokuti Etosha Lodge or similar near Namutoni Gate.
Leave Etosha and travel southwest into Damaraland, one of Namibia’s most scenic and rugged regions. Pass through Outjo and Khorixas, stopping to view the Petrified Forest and Burnt Mountain.
Continue to Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where over 2,500 ancient San rock engravings decorate the red sandstone hills.
Overnight at Twyfelfontein Country Lodge or similar.
After breakfast, head out on a nature drive in search of desert-adapted elephants, which survive in the dry riverbeds of Damaraland. Continue west toward the Atlantic coast, passing through changing terrain until you reach the Skeleton Coast.
Arrive in Swakopmund, a charming seaside town with colonial-era buildings and adventure activities.
Overnight at Swakopmund Plaza Hotel or Hotel A La Mer.
Enjoy a full day in Swakopmund. You can take part in optional activities such as sandboarding, quad biking, or a catamaran cruise from Walvis Bay to spot dolphins and seals. Alternatively, explore the town’s shops, beach promenade, and museums.
Optional: Visit the Moon Landscape and Welwitschia plains for unusual desert flora.
Overnight at Swakopmund Plaza Hotel or similar.
Drive southeast toward the Namib-Naukluft National Park, passing the Gaub and Kuiseb canyons. Stop at Solitaire, a remote desert outpost famous for its apple pie and rustic charm.
Arrive at your lodge near Sesriem in the late afternoon. Relax and watch the sun set over the red dunes of the Namib Desert.
Overnight at Desert Camp or Sossus Dune Lodge.
Wake early and drive into the park before sunrise. Climb Dune 45 or Big Daddy for panoramic views of the world’s oldest desert. Explore Deadvlei, a white clay pan with ancient, sun-scorched camelthorn trees, and visit Sossusvlei, a salt and clay pan surrounded by towering red dunes.
In the afternoon, explore Sesriem Canyon, carved by centuries of erosion.
Overnight at Desert Camp or similar.
After breakfast, return to Windhoek via the Remhoogte Pass or Nauchas route. Enjoy the diverse desert scenery and optional stops for photography or lunch.
Arrive in Windhoek by mid- to late afternoon. You will be dropped off at your hotel or Hosea Kutako International Airport for your flight.
