9 Days Burundi Safari Tour – Wildlife, Culture, Forest Trails & History

Arrive at Bujumbura International Airport, where your guide will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. In the afternoon, begin your Burundi safari with a short drive to Rusizi National Park, one of the most accessible and rewarding wildlife areas near the capital. A guided drive will bring you close to hippos, sitatungas, monkeys, and crocodiles along the Rusizi River.

Later, head to the shores of Lake Tanganyika for a relaxed sunset by the beach or opt for a short boat ride depending on time and weather. Dinner and overnight in Bujumbura.

After breakfast, enjoy a cultural and historical tour of Bujumbura City. Visit Livingstone–Stanley Monument, where the two explorers met in 1871, and explore the Independence Square, the Presidential Palace museum, and the Central Market for local fabrics, spices, and wood carvings.

After breakfast, transfer northeast to Ruvubu National Park, Burundi’s largest wildlife reserve. It protects large stretches of savannah, acacia forest, and riverine woodland along the Ruvubu River.
