Arrival in Lagos – Introduction to Nigeria’s Cultural Capital

Arrive at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. After airport pick-up and check-in at your hotel, begin an afternoon city tour. Visit the National Museum, housing Nigeria’s most important archaeological collections, and stop by Nike Art Gallery, showcasing Nigerian textiles, painting, and sculpture.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with traditional dishes like amala, efo riro, and grilled suya.

Lekki Nature Reserve & Arts and Crafts Market

After breakfast, visit the Lekki Conservation Centre, where you can walk the canopy walkway, the longest in Africa. Spot monkeys, crocodiles, birds, and learn about the local ecosystem.

Day Trip to Abeokuta – Olumo Rock & Adire Market

Depart Lagos early for Abeokuta (approx. 2 hours), Ogun State’s capital. Climb Olumo Rock, once a refuge for the Egba people, and explore its tunnels and caves.

Visit the Adire Heritage Market, where women create intricate hand-dyed fabrics. See the Centenary Hall, the first church in Nigeria, and other colonial landmarks. After lunch, return to Lagos.

Drive to Ibadan – Cocoa House, Mapo Hall & University of Ibadan

Travel to Ilorin – Emir’s Palace & Islamic Heritage

Take a full-day tour to Badagry, an important historical town on Nigeria’s coast (approx. 2 hours). Visit the Badagry Heritage Museum, Seriki Abass Slave Barracoon, and Point of No Return, key sites of the transatlantic slave trade.

Explore Nigeria’s first storey building, built in 1842, and learn about early Christian missionaries. After lunch, walk along the lagoon or relax at the beach before returning to Lagos.
