Isangano National Park

This is a different of Zambia’s less visited wetland parks lying close to Bangweulu swamps. Lack of financial support, multiplied people settlement, mismanagement and also animal poaching all have contributed to its downfall. It covers an area around 800 sq km, mainly low lying floodplains.

Game Viewing

Wildlife in this park includes the black lechwe, tsessebe, reedbuck, oribi, sitatunga, elephant, African buffalo, crocodile as well as hippopotamus. Zebra, antelope, hartebeest, roan antelope, eland, bushbuck and the warthog may also be spotted however not in abundance. Isangano is another favourite habitat for various water fowls and also many migratory species.

It is often reached by switching to the west off the Mpika – Mpulungu road, at Chambeshi.
